Job Summary and Qualifications

The Regulatory/Patient Safety Manager (RPSM) assists the facility’s Patient Safety Director with coordination of the facility-wide patient safety and regulatory program. The RPSM is responsible for administration and oversight of all activities concerning the achievement of continuous regulatory and accreditation readiness, quality excellence, and corporate safety compliance for the organization. The RPSM coordinates process improvement initiatives facility-wide in support of the reduction of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. This position also provides guidance for safety assessments, coordinates the activities of the Patient Safety Committee, designs, develops, and delivers education regarding system based causes for medical errors, consults with nursing leadership and staff, supports the and encourages error reporting throughout the organization through the use of the Meditech system, and communicates literature-based ideas regarding effective patient safety strategies to others within the organization. The role provides oversight for matters including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC), and other external agencies for regulatory compliance. This position works closely with the quality and safety department, facility leadership, and department leaders across the organization to support facilitation, development, and implementation of systems to ensure compliance with external accrediting and regulatory bodies, while driving process improvement and safety across the facility.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree in healthcare related field preferred

  • RN and/or Certification in Patient Safety in Patient Safety preferred

  • 5+ years of clinical, acute care experience required

  • 3+ years of acute care nursing experience preferred; quality/risk/patient safety experience preferred
