Job Summary and Qualifications
The Surgical Technician is a non-licensed skilled and experienced person who is responsible under the direct supervision of a registered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the operating room suite.
You will prepare for surgical procedures and arranges sterile set-up of instrument table.
You will assist surgeons during surgery.
You will assist with the cleaning of the operating room and instruments following a surgical procedure.
You will stock the Operating Room with supplies at the end of the shift and assist with general duties within the department.
What qualifications you will need:
Completion of surgical technician course, with clinical time in an acute care setting.
Surgical Technician certification preferred
BCLS required
1 to 2 years of experience, including trauma, orthopedic, cardiac and neurosurgery preferred.
Ability to scrub minor surgical procedures independently.
Ability to scrub ophthalmology, ENT, and outpatient orthopedic cases independently preferred
