Job Summary and Qualifications

The Maintenance Mechanic is skilled in repair and maintenance of building structures with proficiency in electrical trouble shooting, diagnosis, and repair of facility electrical systems. The Maintenance Mechanic has skills in several trades, most commonly general repair, painting and carpentry within standard practices of the building and construction trade.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will maintain and repair of ceiling tiles, lamp replacement

  • You will perform basic water blockage removal, know basic hand tools, demonstrate HVAC filter change and electrical familiarity

  • You will clear stoppages in up to a 2" sewer line

  • You will perform general painting and wall repair

  • You will be able to perform PMs on AHU and Exhaust fans

  • You will have basic electrical testing and knowledge of emergency systems

  • You will perform Monthly generator loaded runs

  • You will respond promptly to all calls for emergency repairs. Take care of any duty assignments that may arise in an emergency situation.

  • You will be available for on call and respond to any hazards and / or emergency situations as the situation requires; maintain universal precautions.

  • You will maintain complete and accurate records of all maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with TJC, Federal, State and Local regulations and standards.

  • You will participate in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. You will maintain cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers.

What qualifications you will need:

  • 5 or more years experience in healthcare related building construction and maintenance

  • 5 years experience in hospital related electrical systems repair.

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

  • Florida Drivers License with clear Driving Record
