Job Summary and Qualifications

Physical Therapy Assistant

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. As a PT Assistant on our team, you will provide treatment and rehabilitative services to patients to improve mobility, relieve pain and disability under the direction of a Physical Therapist. If you are dedicated to caring for the well-being of others, this could be your next opportunity.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Conduct patient education, including post-care planning, proper use of supportive devices and equipment, and gait and functional training.

  • Record, monitor, analyze and review clinical data; Provide feedback to therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plan and goals based upon patient performance; Adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient.

  • Collaborate with patient service departments and community service agencies to coordinate and conduct educational outreach programs and learning activities.

  • Utilize appropriate methods and material for effective learning, monitor response to education and adapt program as needed.

Requirements:

  • Associate of Science (A.S.) degree or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

  • Experience in appropriate healthcare setting preferred

  • Clear/active State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license

  • Current Functional Independence Measure (FIM) required

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Critical thinking and adaptability; services excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • General PC skills

  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting patients and /or equipment up to 50 pounds
