Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary: Under general direction, administers the general accounting and patient business services, including third-party reimbursement, financial and statistical reporting functions of the hospital, in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures.
Essential Functions:
Completes all assigned Journal Entries per time schedule for the hospital.
Discern all incoming department mail and distribute to appropriate personnel.
Prepare or review all manual check requests relating to AP functions.
Maintain manual check log.
Audit and assign general ledger codes appropriately considering HCA chart of accounts and company and facility policies.
Process A/P invoices in Lawson tool in timely and efficient manner.
Act as Lawson SME (Subject matter expert) assisting new Directors/Managers in set up and usage of Lawson tool.
Direct required forms to Directors as needed for new vendor tax and information and forward for VIRA input and vendor set up.
Act as Liaison with NISC (utility disbursement vendor) regarding utility and linen payments for all hospital accounts.
Handle requests for stop payments, reissues, and other problems relating to disbursement issues.
Review outstanding checks and resolve before auto reversing.
Reviews the assigned sections of FS trial balance for accuracy.
Act as support and backup to FAS (Fixed Assets System).
Assist in annual budget process, preparing schedules and researching accounts.
Supports Assistant Controller, Controller and CFO with any special assignments.
May have to work outside of normal working hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on when the month end close process occurs
Performs other related functions as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma/GED required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
5+ years of experience preferably in the healthcare field preferred
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a purpose-guided healthcare provider. We are a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital. We have 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Other services include cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet. Our ED consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
