Job Summary and Qualifications

The Controller oversees the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include the month-end close of three facility general ledgers and the preparation of the budget for three facilities. In addition, the Controller ensures the hospital maintains compliance with HCA accounting policy guides and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 hospital key controls as defined by HCA Corporate. The Controller also maintains ongoing staff training and provides ongoing financial training for all non-financial managers.

What you will do in this role:

  • In this role, you will oversee the Financial Activities and Accounting Department in the hospital.

  • You will organize, direct, and supervise accounting staff, staff orientation and education and competency programs.

  • You will provide month end closings and both internal and external audits; ensuring financial information

  • You will ensure financial reports are consistent with corporate policy and GAAP

  • You will coordinate departmental performance and quality programs.

  • You will review and assist with the preparation of external reports, including AHCA, HFCA, state federal and local authorities.

  • You will also be responsible as the Controller for all other daily activities of the Accounting Department

  • You will perform special projects as directed by the CFO and other Administrative staff.

What qualifications you will need:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA designation preferred.

  • Prefer at least 3 years experience in healthcare accounting

  • Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and use of personal computers.

TriStar Summit is a 200 bed comprehensive facility. We serve Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center. We offer a full array of acute care services.
