Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiovascular Technician – CVL (CVT-CVL) is responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to Cardiac Cath Lab and CVL patients. The CVT-CVL must be able to perform in a fast paced environment with a teamwork approach. Prioritizes and organizes patient flow to ensure best utilization of time. They must be familiar with all necessary equipment involved in performing assigned duties and be able to operate such equipment when needed. They must have knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique. The CVT-CVL responsibilities include proper patient set up, scrubbing, circulating, recording, maintenance of sterile technique, locating and use of all supplies, troubleshooting of clinical equipment. The CVT-CVL must have a good understanding of the entire scope of procedures performed within the Cardiac Cath and CVL space. Independent proficiency and full participation in departmental procedures and performance measures, including on call availability, is an expectation. The CVT-CVL establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and Medical Staff. Makes technical assessments of image quality and monitors image quality, which meet or exceed established standards. They demonstrate competence when performing other related or licensed functions.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist within 12 months from hire for CVT program graduates

  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (R) is required, Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or (CI) is preferred. State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology

  • Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab preferred
