Job Summary and Qualifications

The TriStar Food & Nutrition Supervisor will be an experienced and competent professional who is responsible for the supervision and documentation of day to day operations to ensure that patient and employee safety and HACCPS guidelines are maintained within the Food & Nutrition Department. This role will provide excellent customer service to all patients and employees.

Essential Functions

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

I. Quality/Regulatory

Food Safety (HACCP) & Sanitation

· Utilizes, monitors, and drives systems to support compliance with food safety (HACCP).

· Utilizes, monitors, and drives systems to support department sanitation.

Patient Safety

· Utilizes, monitors, and drives processes to ensure patient safety.

Employee Safety

· Utilizes, monitors, and drives processes to comply with OSHA guidelines.

Security

· Utilizes, monitors, and drives systems to ensure department security.

Infection Control

· Utilizes, monitors, and drives system to ensure infection control practices.

HIPAA

· Utilizes, monitors, and drives systems to comply with HIPPA guidelines.

II. Human Resources

Recruitment

· Assists in the hiring process of potential employees.

Education, Development & Retention

· Monitors and drives the maintenance of employee competencies.

· Participates in employee rounding.

· Drives and participates in coaching employees to professional and productive work behavior.

Time & Attendance

· Monitors and drives Time & Attendance policies and employee schedules.

III. Finance

Food & Supply Cost

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivescost control processes to meet goals and reduce waste.

Purchasing & Compliance

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivessystems to meet (Vendor) compliance goals.

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivessystems to meet (Product) compliance goals.

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivessystems to support proper inventory levels.

IV. Service

Patient Service

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivesprocesses to achieve patient satisfaction goals.

Retail Service

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivesprocesses to achieve customer satisfaction goals.

Doctors Lounge Service

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivesprocesses to achieve physician lounge objectives.

Catering Service

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivesprocesses to achieve catering goals.

Culinary

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivescompliance with standard recipes.

· Utilizes, monitors, and drivesquality processes/standards in food production.

Service Recovery

· Resolves customer complaints and reports to the appropriate superior.

V. Technology

HCA/Computer Systems

· Utilizes HCA hardware and software.

HCA/Computrition

· Utilizes Computrition software.

EDUCATION / DEVELOPMENT

  1. Learns new procedures and protocols. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of

policies and procedures in performing job duties. Reports to supervisor any suggestions for positive change or recommendations to department policies and procedures.

  1. Completes annual mandatory In-Service requirements and Healthstream trainings. Attends department

meetings (reviews and signs minutes when unable to attend).

  1. Assumes responsibility for continued professional development.

Education & Experience:

High School Degree / Equivalent

Preferred

2-3 year food service experience

Preferred

1 year cooking experience

Licenses, Certifications, & Training:

Food Handlers or ServSafe Certificate within 90 days of hire

  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
