HCA Healthcare GME Medical Writer in Brentwood, Tennessee

Description

Introduction

The GME Medical Writer collaborates with members of cross-functional teams, including authors, research staff, librarians, journal staff, and other external groups, in drafting high-quality publications for submission to scientific conferences and journals. The GME Medical Writer possesses a high-level understanding of medical information and will provide medical writing training and guidance to the GME enterprise.

This role is office based in Brentwood, TN.

Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Participates in scientific communication planning with internal research and scholarly communications community members.

  • Analyzes and transfers data findings into a variety of scholarly output formats.

  • Works with the Medical Editor to develop style guides, best practices, and training in publication preparation.

  • Advances and completes scientific and educational writing projects and document reviews according to established timelines.

  • Serves as subject matter expert regarding current industry practices that affect medical writing and publication in medicine.

  • Ensures that appropriate documented quality control checks are performed on medical writing deliverables, responds to findings, and recommends quality process improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with HCA Healthcare publishing and data access policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare education environment

  • Working knowledge of medical publishing guidelines

  • Demonstrated experience and success in producing high-level scholarly output

  • Demonstrated experience managing medical writing responsibilities associated with multiple projects at various stages

EDUCATION

  • Master’s Degree in a scientific or medical discipline

  • 3+ years medical writing experience in a healthcare, academic, or corporate environment
