Shift: Full-Time, Days (7-10 hr. shifts) with rotating weekends

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Cleans, assembles, wraps, sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment used in OR and all clinical areas while maintaining CS areas in a sanitary and organized condition

• Knows sterilization methods, both steam and gas. Always sterilizes products according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and keeps accurate records

• Understands and follows CS policies and procedures

• Minimizes damage to fragile equipment/instruments and reduces waste of supplies through careful handling along with adherence to CS procedures

• Determines priority and sequence of tasks each shift

• Gives/accepts detailed report to/from coworkers noting any incomplete assignment to ensure continuity of procedures

• Regularly rotates stock both sterile and non-sterile. Knows the location, purpose of product and the methods to care for all supplies and equipment issued

• Distributes patient care items in a timely manner; always responding immediately to STAT orders. Assumes clerical responsibilities when necessary

• Informs the switchboard when on rounds and maintains that the CS area is locked up and secure at all times

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
